Ashleigh Siteine

Ashleigh is of Māori descent with whakapapa to Ngai Tawake. He grew up in Manurewa and was drawn to Healthy Families South Auckland because he wanted to give back to the people and place that helped shape his well being.

Current role:

“I am currently a Systems Innovator. I work with local change makers, entrepreneurs and businesses, especially Maori and Pasifika communities who are motivated to work differently for influence across the health system.”

Current projects:

“I’m currently working with Auckland Council’s events team, local boards and community event organisers to implement the Healthy Environment principles at events. The initiative includes promoting water as the first choice and easy choice, encouraging social enterprise and collaborating with Auckland Council’s community grants to incorporate the Healthy Environment principles into funding agreements.”

What is your vision for health and wellbeing in South Auckland?

“A prosperous resilient South Auckland where tamariki and whanau thrive.”

Who inspires you?

“The people of South Auckland that give wholeheartedly to their communities.”

What is one funny/quirky/interesting thing that no-one knows about you?

“For the last 2 years I’ve practised intermittent fasting, this mean I have ‘break-fast’ usually after 12.30pm.”
