Winnie Hauraki

Winnie is of Nga Puhi descent. Born and bred in Manurewa, Healthy Families South Auckland continues to allow her to serve community and respond to the multiple influences and challenges.

Current role:

“I am Lead Systems Innovator. Using a systems thinking approach, I’m aiming to achieve population level change that is directed by the people closest to the issue with lived experience to explore, imagine and test new ideas.”

Current projects:

“I’m leading the Healthy Environments Approach, building a foundation of work to support Auckland Council to actively facilitate healthy choices and options for community across multiple settings. My project portfolio also includes democratising community voice regarding equitable provision of walking and cycling investment for South Auckland.”

What is your vision for health and wellbeing in South Auckland?

“Our spaces enable and promote active, healthy and flourishing communities.”

“People who choose to shine even after all they have been through.”
