We are out and about in the neighbourhood daily, connecting with awesome individuals, community organisations, clubs and businesses in the spaces they Live, Learn, Work and Play.

Here’s a snapshot of October.

The Healthy Families Manukau, Manurewa-Papakura team went along to the Mangere East Kids Tag Module at Walter Massey Park to meet with families about their physical activity and park usage ambitions, with the bold goal to increase movement for families in South Auckland.

The team also introduced a healthier alternative to a traditional sausage sizzle, offering sausage wrapped in lettuce with coleslaw, onion and tomato chutney. It is a simple way to increase the uptake of vegetables in our community and it got rave reviews with 100% of the food testers loving the taste and, kids coming back for more!

Kaiwhakahaere Anaru Ah Kew and Coach Alex Whitcombe of Healthy Families Manukau, Manurewa-Papakura were guest speakers for an alumni workshop for the national Public Health Leadership Programme on finding new ways of working to solve complex problems.

The Healthy Families Manukau, Manurewa-Papakura team attended the ACG Tertiary and Careers Fair, NZMA Otahuhu Campus, to collect local observations for the #WalkNRideSouthside movement.
