We’re on a mission to get 10,000 South Aucklanders engaged in regular physical activity by June 30, 2026.
To do this, we’re calling on you, your whanau, your communities, your mahi, to join our movement and get fit, get active, and make it a normal and enjoyable part of your day.
We know that physical activity and movement have direct implications on people’s health and is the most easily attainable prevention method available for us to tackle long term health conditions.
We know over the years there has been a rise in health hindering products and services available in our communities.
We know that our community is calling out for culturally sound, easy and accessible and affordable ways to get fit and active.
Join us in making movement as ‘normal’ as driving to work.
We want to see a South Auckland that is active, fit and healthy, because when our body feels right, so does our mind. By making movement a regular part of our lives, we take an active role in preventing chronic illnesses that wreak havoc on our families and communities. We remove pressure from our healthcare system by taking a lead role in keeping ourselves strong, and we lead by example for our kids and families and have an impact on intergenerational health, instead of fixing the issues before it gets too late.
Don’t be whakama – movement doesn’t have to be high performance sports, or extreme physical activity, it can be anything that gets you up and moving.
